After reading recommendations online I decided to try out Ernie Ball skinny bottom fat top strings.
I was stunned how good this Hy Lo is as a player.
Lowest action of any acoustic I’ve ever played by a long shot. NO buzz on this neck – holy crap!
E Major chords sound amazing hitting it hard. It sounds unlike any other guitar I own.
This has a huge thick neck of 1″ thick at the first and twelve fret. I wasn’t sure if I had ‘gone too far’ this time with chasing thick neck guitars, but nope, it’s not too far at all. I really like it. I really love this guitar, I think it’s shot up to my 4th favorite guitar rank which took my by surprise.
(my #1 Washburn A20V, #2 ‘Mystery Vermont’ mahogany two piece vintage Explorer, #3 Arbor headless licensed Steinberger).
I can’t wait to get the pickuup / wiring / output straightened out and hear it on my amp.
I also probably have to get a better / proper spring for the fake Bigsby copy tremolo, the spring I found and popped in there basically mushed out and it won’t allow the trem to basically work at all.
Maybe I’ll get the pickguard more securely back on as well.
