Just purchased Sidi Strada waterproof boots – used $40! + Technic leather pants
Looks barely worn Sidi Strada black waterproof boots. Apparently they are made of “Lorica” a duPont manufactured synthetic leather that Sidi uses in most of its bicycling shoes and moto boots. The are incredibly comfortable and light.
Completely opposite from the MX motor cross AlpineStar boots I bought last week. I quickly resold them a few days later for a $10 profit. I wanted them to work, but they were thick, heavy as hell, thick, and I couldn’t shift in them or at least no feel, had to reposition shifter to drive bike with them, and then could not feel up shifting whatsoever. Not good on a 46K bike.
I also scored a pair of Teknic black leather pants, I’ve never owned a pair of leather pants in all these years of riding. I also go one for $40 and they have pucks / knee sliders that I’d hope to get down sometime this year – drop my knee in a turn.

Ordered a New set of Dunlop Q3 racey hyper sport tires. They arrive tomorrow! And I plan to install them myself! Which will be a first and probably pretty tough. Gonna use the “zip tie method” but have hacksaw, tin snips, drill and box cutters on stand by to aid the removal of old tires in case… That seems to be the worst part of job.

NorCal Morgan Territories yesterday! Gorgeous loop
A riddle for you. Two twins riding two twins and an E.
So anyway… three of us went on this 86 mile loop yesterday out of Oakland, CA. Mid 60s Degree F (15 + degrees C for you other lot). I was hot most of trip.
Perfect riding weather. My bike made the whole trip. Much smoother shifting just after oil change, and my low 2500-2400 rpm stumble uphill is pretty much gone!
Morgan Territories is like escaping to a whole other world out here…
We went the long way round Mt Diablo.

Start of trip more or less. Redwood / Pinehurst back roads thru the Redwoods out of Oakland towards Moraga

Windy single track road for 7 miles! Brilliant.
At regional park parking lot. Felt like I was in the wild west on a cool summer day.
Other bikes: brand new (250 miles) Harley 1200 sportster customized / murdered. The bike sounds very cool and rumbly. (Other) twin on a twin is a HondaMatic CB400A. Cafe racer mod-ed.
I’m from New England – NH – so I was seriously thinking of all the people in the north and east and the bad weather there. I am grateful to get in the warm ride here. Dream for spring and summer.

Norcal hills trip (central cali), turns turns turns – 1st trip!
I wonder if a bunch of people here have done this trip. Redwood / Pinehurst. Would be certain many CA ZXers know to head there.
Oakland start.
Snake to Skyline Blvd, keep going all the way back down to 580 via Grass Valley Rd and Golf Links Rd. Parallel the 580 south towards Estudillo towards Lake Chabot.
Wrap around Lake Chabot, and we drove thru Castro Valley into Hayward and stopped for some eats at Buffalo Bills.
Back on bike, backtracked into Castro Valley. Seven Hills Road to Redwood and then right onto Pinehurst on insane turns over and over over the pass down into Moraga / Canyon area, at T straight on thru Canyon following Pinehurst thru Redwood forest to some crazy curves back up to Skyline Blvd.
Gorgeous views.

My first ZX6e!! Bought last night 9pm! Pics, Fell in love on the ride home.
Just bought this bike for $900.00 cash last night. Runs a little rough, perhaps a weary clutch too. 43,174 miles on it. Some damage from PO low siding it in a turn.
So psyched to get this bike. You might guess I like Kawasaki Green.
PO fueled with 87 octane. And fuel present in tank was 8 month old 87 octane. Hard to start, sort of rough idle (big surprise). Bad. I put in 3.5 gal of 91 Octane down the street from purchase and that already made it ride better. Starts not great, had to bump start it three times to get it to run after sitting 5 days by previous owner for my test ride. Electric started once after a stall. Then had to bump start it again at gas station.
Might try the SeaFoam stuff. Does that work well?
This bike destroys my Katana 600 I owned forever. I love it.
